Beaches
South Africa has the one of the largest coastlines in the world. Thus the variety and sheer number of beautiful beaches is very high. It is no surprise that next to Europe South Africa was one of the first countries to receive blue flag status for many of its beaches. The Atlantic Ocean and the Indian Ocean meet at the tip of the country and therefore provide two kinds of beaches. The warm Indian Ocean beaches are found on the East Coast of Africa and the cold Atlantic Coast beaches are found on the West Coast of Africa. Cape Town beaches are all situated in the West Coast beaches. This is where you will find some of South Africa’s true treasure beaches.
Clifton Beach
Clifton beach is divided into 4 smaller beaches by rocks. These are numbered and all were given blue flag status a few years ago. During the day you will find people from all walks of life sunbathing and swimming. In the evening this is where most sunset cruises come to dock and watch the sun go down.
