Knysna Oyster Festival 2009

The quiet town of Knysna is awakened to its core every year for the past 26 years for
this seafood spectacular and boasts a jam-packed programme including sport, entertainment
and 200 000 oysters!
This year’s festival includes more than 100 exciting events and is expected to draw
over 65 000 local and international vistiors to the beautiful Garden Route town.
For oyster lovers, look out for the annual oyster-shucking (opening) competition and
the ever-popular oyster eating competition.
Also look out for the Knysna Whiskey and Jazz Festival and the Wade Bales Wine Festival.

2009 Vodacom Funny Festival

This spectacular showcase of local and international comedic talent is back!!!
Marc Lottering, Cape Town’s favourite son, will act as Master of Ceremonies with local acts including Tumi Morake and Nik Rabinowitz and international acts including John Lenahan, Gamarjobat and The Raymond and Mr Timpkins Revue.
The show is known to have everyone in the audience in stitches and this year’s line-up is
sure to have the crowd roaring with laughter!

One Year Mark to 2010 FIFA World Cup – Live It! Love It! LOUDER!!

11 June 2009 marks the start of the one year countdown to the 2010 FIFA World Cup!!
Cape Town Tourism is ready to get the festivities started with a Sightseeing bus which will take a party of soccer celebrities, fans and guests on a city tour between 10h30 and 11h30 en route to Table Mountain where a symbolic football kick-off will take place at 12h00. All soccer lovers and Cape Town residence are invitied to join in and are urged to bring along their Vuvuzelas and whistles to make some noise and Live It! Love It! LOUDER!!

Wacky Wine Weekend

Running its 6th year… Join us at one of South Africa’s wackiest weekends filled with good wine, food, music and various activities.
Starting off in the Robertson Valley, the weekend will be filled with many highlights, including cellar tours, wine tastings, live music and many more. Althought the weekend has lots in store for adults, they have also catered for children of all ages. For those who would much prefer the stronger stuff, the weekend includes an informative tour of the Klipdrift Brandy Distillery as well as brandy tasting.
